The Big-D Idaho Falls office began, in earnest, in 2013 when a project construction team with ties to Eastern Idaho was relocated to Rexburg, Idaho to manage the construction of the Central Energy Facility project at BYU-Idaho. Company leadership then discovered there were other employees from Eastern Idaho eager to pursue more work locally. In turn, Big-D encouraged their eagerness and desire to establish a presence throughout Eastern Idaho. That presence continued to grow until Big-D officially opened a regional office in Idaho Falls in 2018.
Big-D Idaho Falls is proud to offers clients the ability to work directly with a local contractor who can devote a higher level of attention to projects, typical of a smaller contractor, but who is also backed by the significant resources of a much larger firm. With Big-D Idaho Falls you receive the best of both worlds – the dedication of an earnest small contractor and the resources, professionalism, and experience of a much larger organization.
While the roots of Big-D Construction are ever-expanding, our Idaho Falls office takes a community-centered approach to our work. The Big-D Lindon office opened in 2005 with the focus to increase Big-D’s presence in Utah County. The Lindon office constructs a wide range of project types annually, with key market sectors being commercial buildings, higher education facilities, multi-family housing, industrial, and mining projects. Big-D Lindon is a fully self-sufficient office, able to offer comprehensive Preconstruction and Construction services, and is staffed with a Preconstruction Director, a team of estimators, and a variety of market-specific construction team members.
Building and maintaining local client relationships has always been the driving factor for the Lindon office but being local for their employees who appreciate working on projects close to home and minimizing long commutes is equally as important. Just as Big-D Construction seeks to be the most sought-after construction company in the business, the Lindon office has a similar goal of being the number one construction company in Utah County.

Big-D Construction was founded in 1967 in Ogden. It was our original home, first headquarters, and where it all started. The Ogden office is where our company culture and core values were forged and where Big Dee and his founding leaders built a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. The Ogden operation grew quickly, taking on larger and more notable projects in the food and beverage processing, manufacturing and industrial warehouse sectors. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Philadelphia Temple was a joint venture project between Big-D Construction and LF Driscoll. The 61,466-sf, granite-clad temple is the first temple built in Pennsylvania and located in the Center City District, diagonal to Logan Square. The temple features architectural elements that complement the classic architecture of the neighboring historic buildings. The temple has premium, Level 5 drywall finishes including plaster interior trim and finish. Stained glass panes run the length of the building, which is surrounded by a landscaped plaza featuring a reflecting pool. The project scope included a multi-level sub-grade parking structure. Challenges included a highly constrained urban site which the team mitigated by working closely with the City to ensure construction did not disrupt traffic, closing sidewalks, and constructing protective walkaways to protect curious onlookers during construction. Parking was also a challenge, especially for our trade partners, and many of our tradesmen rode public transportation to the site.

The Ogden Temple &amp; Tabernacle project was a major renovation of both the buildings on the same site and construction of new two-level parking structure. The Temple received a complete overhaul. Two thirds of the structural frame was removed and only the center section remained before construction began to complete the massive concrete walls on the east and west side of the building. The interior was gutted down to the basement, including the slab-on-grade, to prepare for a new subterranean drain system. Interior space layouts remained largely the same, some rooms were reconfigured, and Big-D updated all interior design and auxiliary systems with modern, energy-saving equipment. All of the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and audio-visual systems were removed and upgraded. The adjacent Tabernacle was also a major renovation. The tabernacle interior was gutted to make way for new ceiling, walls, and projections. All mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and A/V components were replaced with more efficient and advanced systems.
