The Big-D Idaho Falls office began, in earnest, in 2013 when a project construction team with ties to Eastern Idaho was relocated to Rexburg, Idaho to manage the construction of the Central Energy Facility project at BYU-Idaho. Company leadership then discovered there were other employees from Eastern Idaho eager to pursue more work locally. In turn, Big-D encouraged their eagerness and desire to establish a presence throughout Eastern Idaho. That presence continued to grow until Big-D officially opened a regional office in Idaho Falls in 2018.
Big-D Idaho Falls is proud to offers clients the ability to work directly with a local contractor who can devote a higher level of attention to projects, typical of a smaller contractor, but who is also backed by the significant resources of a much larger firm. The Big-D Lindon office opened in 2005 with the focus to increase Big-D’s presence in Utah County. The Lindon office constructs a wide range of project types annually, with key market sectors being commercial buildings, higher education facilities, multi-family housing, industrial, and mining projects. Big-D Lindon is a fully self-sufficient office, able to offer comprehensive Preconstruction and Construction services, and is staffed with a Preconstruction Director, a team of estimators, and a variety of market-specific construction team members.
Building and maintaining local client relationships has always been the driving factor for the Lindon office but being local for their employees who appreciate working on projects close to home and minimizing long commutes is equally as important. Big-D Construction was founded in 1967 in Ogden. It was our original home, first headquarters, and where it all started. The Ogden office is where our company culture and core values were forged and where Big Dee and his founding leaders built a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. The Ogden operation grew quickly, taking on larger and more notable projects in the food and beverage processing, manufacturing and industrial warehouse sectors. The Juniper Building is the first structure at the new SLCC Herriman Campus. This project includes a three-story instructional building and Central Utility Plant (CUP), along with associated utility and sitework. Big-D self-performed the concrete work, including underground tunneling connecting the CUP to the Juniper Building.
The main Juniper Building features classrooms, core support spaces, a bookstore, break rooms, conference rooms, offices, restrooms/locker rooms, a student dining hall, and a lounge on the first floor. The second floor includes more classrooms, computer labs, study rooms, a meditation room, testing center, and tutoring rooms. The third floor offers additional classrooms, restrooms, and an exterior deck. The7,236-sf CUP houses boiler and chiller rooms, offices, a meeting room, tool room, restrooms, and utility storage.

This phased renovation project included upgrades to the Austin Building’s outdated mechanical, electrical, plumbing and life safety systems and reconfiguration of spaces to capture underutilized space, improve functional quality, and accommodate more students to meet the current and future needs of the respective departments.
Highlights of the systems upgrade scope included new electrical service in most of the building; upgrades and major replacement of the HVAC components; a new parallel steam pressure reducing station and heat exchangers; removal of existing chiller, chilled water pumps, cooling tower and related equipment and then tying those lines into the campus central chiller plant; domestic hot water system upgrades including a new heat exchanger; and partial replacement and reconfiguration of the fire suppression system.
