The Big-D Idaho Falls office began, in earnest, in 2013 when a project construction team with ties to Eastern Idaho was relocated to Rexburg, Idaho to manage the construction of the Central Energy Facility project at BYU-Idaho. Company leadership then discovered there were other employees from Eastern Idaho eager to pursue more work locally. In turn, Big-D encouraged their eagerness and desire to establish a presence throughout Eastern Idaho. That presence continued to grow until Big-D officially opened a regional office in Idaho Falls in 2018.
Big-D Idaho Falls is proud to offers clients the ability to work directly with a local contractor who can devote a higher level of attention to projects, typical of a smaller contractor, but who is also backed by the significant resources of a much larger firm. With Big-D Idaho Falls you receive the best of both worlds – the dedication of an earnest small contractor and the resources, professionalism, and experience of a much larger organization.
While the roots of Big-D Construction are ever-expanding, our Idaho Falls office takes a community-centered approach to our work. The Big-D Lindon office opened in 2005 with the focus to increase Big-D’s presence in Utah County. The Lindon office constructs a wide range of project types annually, with key market sectors being commercial buildings, higher education facilities, multi-family housing, industrial, and mining projects. Big-D Lindon is a fully self-sufficient office, able to offer comprehensive Preconstruction and Construction services, and is staffed with a Preconstruction Director, a team of estimators, and a variety of market-specific construction team members.
Building and maintaining local client relationships has always been the driving factor for the Lindon office but being local for their employees who appreciate working on projects close to home and minimizing long commutes is equally as important. Big-D Construction was founded in 1967 in Ogden. It was our original home, first headquarters, and where it all started. The Ogden office is where our company culture and core values were forged and where Big Dee and his founding leaders built a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. The BYU-Idaho Visual Arts Studio is a new facility located where the Kirkham Building once stood on the north end of campus. The single-story building holds two large classrooms for the Department of Art’s sculpting and ceramics courses. Other rooms include plaster area, wood shop, glazing and kiln rooms, a foundry, forge and welding areas, faculty offices, a locker area for students to store projects, a lobby, and larger storage areas in the back to house kilns, clay, and other art supplies. The building’s north façade features a tall aluminum curtain wall system which is one of the more unique and visually appealing aspects of the project. During construction, Big-D crews were challenged with COVID-19 labor shortages and supply chain issues, as well as coordination of numerous design elements that were particularly challenging to navigate through. In the end, the project was a success, and the new building is one of the more visually attractive buildings on campus.

The Youngberg Football Center is a new, two-story state-of-the-art football support facility located at the north end of the Stewart Stadium at WSU’s Ogden campus. The new building features a prominent patron entry gateway plaza with ticketing office and concession areas, a professional grade locker room, and an advanced strength and conditioning facility for all Wildcat student-athletes. The new Center layout also includes a 125-seat auditorium-style team room, equipment room, unisex restrooms, coaches’ offices, position group meeting rooms, a communications / A/V room with editing capabilities, and second floor terrace. Building materials and finishes are all durable high-quality materials including wood, stone, metal, and melamine, and specialty athletic rubber flooring throughout the building. Big-D self-performed the concrete work on the project and extensive landscaping which included hardscapes, rock-retaining walls, trees, and shrubs.
