The Big-D Idaho Falls office began, in earnest, in 2013 when a project construction team with ties to Eastern Idaho was relocated to Rexburg, Idaho to manage the construction of the Central Energy Facility project at BYU-Idaho. Company leadership then discovered there were other employees from Eastern Idaho eager to pursue more work locally. In turn, Big-D encouraged their eagerness and desire to establish a presence throughout Eastern Idaho. That presence continued to grow until Big-D officially opened a regional office in Idaho Falls in 2018.
Big-D Idaho Falls is proud to offers clients the ability to work directly with a local contractor who can devote a higher level of attention to projects, typical of a smaller contractor, but who is also backed by the significant resources of a much larger firm. The Big-D Lindon office opened in 2005 with the focus to increase Big-D’s presence in Utah County. The Lindon office constructs a wide range of project types annually, with key market sectors being commercial buildings, higher education facilities, multi-family housing, industrial, and mining projects. Big-D Lindon is a fully self-sufficient office, able to offer comprehensive Preconstruction and Construction services, and is staffed with a Preconstruction Director, a team of estimators, and a variety of market-specific construction team members.
Building and maintaining local client relationships has always been the driving factor for the Lindon office but being local for their employees who appreciate working on projects close to home and minimizing long commutes is equally as important. Big-D Construction was founded in 1967 in Ogden. It was our original home, first headquarters, and where it all started. The Ogden office is where our company culture and core values were forged and where Big Dee and his founding leaders built a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. The Ogden operation grew quickly, taking on larger and more notable projects in the food and beverage processing, manufacturing and industrial warehouse sectors. The 505 Wakara Way project is a new, three-story, multi-tenant office building located at University of Utah Research Park. Big-D was responsible for construction of the building core and shell. The project included demolition of an existing building onsite, as well as all associated sitework and landscaping. The Class A office building utilized a variety of exterior materials, including storefront and glass curtainwall, metal panels, and brick masonry veneer. The structure includes a third-floor terrace, skylights, a 25,532-sf, single-level open parking garage that accommodates 60 vehicles, and a drive thru for future credit union tenant. Big-D Construction self-performed the site and structural concrete work and successfully completed the project on schedule.

O.C. Tanner is the preeminent jeweler in Utah with a longstanding local presence, founded in 1927. Big-D Construction led the renovation of their flagship location in Salt Lake City. The project was an extensive historic renovation and seismic upgrade to an iconic downtown building originally built in 1905. The building previously housed the original Salt Lake Library and subsequently the Hansen Planetarium. It was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. Construction of the renovation began with a near full gut of the interior followed by the careful preservation and restoration of the building’s finishes and architectural elements, using the original materials whenever possible to preserve historical character. The stunning Beaux Arts style limestone exterior was refurbished, and numerous seismic and structural upgrades were also completed. The reborn structure is a mix of modern and historical details that come together around a sweeping spiral staircase that ascends all three floors, anchored by a stunning glass sculpture capturing the light from a two-story etched glass window.
